Overview & Responsibilities

Hiring in San Antonio, Austin and Seattle!

 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of Managed AWS (including the service delivery and support offering around Amazon Web Services for storage, compute, analytics, data warehousing, application hosting and scaling, disaster recovery and backup and many more). In collaboration with the Rackspace core sales teams, you will drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers. You will interact with established yet very fast moving customers eager to adopt Managed AWS for their mission critical applications within a very short time frame. You will possess customer-facing skills that allow you to represent Managed AWS well within a customer’s environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, and risk management. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. You will enjoy working with customers of all shapes and sizes. You will have a passion for educating, training, designing, and building cloud computing systems for a diverse and challenging set of customers whether they are large or small. Your ability to connect technology with measurable business value will be critical.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • As a key member of the business development and growth team, ensure success in discussing how to build and migrate applications, software and services on the AWS platform.
  • Educate customers of all size on the value proposition of Managed AWS, and participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
  • Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer commercial and technical skills to customers considering or using Managed AWS.
  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the Managed AWS technical and partner communities.
  • In collaboration with the core sales teams, you will drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers
  • Build relationships with senior individuals within customer accounts to enable them to be “Cloud advocates”.
  • Act as a liaison between customers, sales, service engineering teams and support.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY:

  • Expert professional sales expertise to include the sales process and sales techniques. 
  • Expert knowledge of complex configurations which apply to offerings based on customer’s needs. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to communicate technical information and ideas so others will understand. 
  • Ability to see patterns and deconstruct problems to develop solutions.
  • Able to identify multiple causes, effects, and customer solutions. 
  • Must have a customer centric mindset with the ability to interface with support team on a daily basis. 
  • Ability to ‘hunt’ new customers and develop current ones. 
  • Ability to successfully work and promote inclusiveness in small groups. 
  • Ability to provide FANATICAL support. 

 

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, computer science, or related field required. 
  • Requires 9+ years of experience selling technical products, software, or SaaS in a B2B environment, OR 12+ years administration or engineering experience in the technical area of expertise with demonstrated knowledge of the sales process. 
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales and revenue targets, getting immediate results while building repeatable processes, and selling innovative technologies to medium and large organizations. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
