Overview & Responsibilities

· Oversee a team responsible for the coordination and monitoring of professional services projects from initiation through delivery.

· Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical departments at Rackspace and with Rackspace clients in order to ensure that all targets and requirements are met.

· Ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

· Oversees a team of Project and/or Program Managers responsible for the coordination and monitoring of projects from initiation through delivery. 

· Ensures that projects are completed according to corporate timelines and budgets. 

· Remains aware of potential problems and works to solve problems creatively and effectively. 

· Monitors project deliverables and progress through continuous communication with project members. 

· Prepares reports on project progress and problems. 

· Serves as liaison between technical and non-technical departments in order to ensure that all targets are requirements are met. 

· Guides team in the evaluation and development of a project plan. 

· Keeps appropriate people informed of project progress.

Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of coordinating and monitoring technical projects from initiation through delivery. 
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while driving to resolution and getting results.
  • Thorough knowledge of all areas of business operations. 
  • Excellent ability to manage a team handling complex projects. 
  • Advanced time management, communication, decision making, presentation, and organization skills. 
  • Ability to resolve problems in a timely manner. 
  • Aptitude for motivating others and aligning individual and team goals to achieve outstanding outcomes for the customer. 
  • Advanced working knowledge of project management processes, tools and methodologies. 
  • Excellent people management skills, with a proven ability to hire and grow talent. 
  • Advanced knowledge of problem solving and critical thinking techniques and how to apply them in complex strategic and operational scenarios. 
  • Strong understanding of continuous improvement and operational excellence. 
  • Proven ability to deliver results in a high risk, fast-paced environment. 
  • Solid understanding of Cloud Computing

 EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Marketing, or related field. 
  • Minimum 7 years of increasing responsibility in development, implementation, marketing, professional services, and/or project management.  
  • Proven ability executing complex projects and managing teams of high performers.  
  • Project certifications highly desired.
