PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Works with the Payroll Analyst to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of US bi-weekly and off-cycle (as needed) payrolls, including all wages withholdings, deductions, garnishments, and reporting. Responsible for reconciling assigned reports and financial data. Works with different business units in the accurate processing of leaves, benefits, or other special programs with a payroll impact. Conducts special calculations in regards to proration, retro payments, terminations, and multiple rate situations. Responsible for G/L integrations, off-cycle processing, and financial settlement of funds with third parties and treasury as assigned. Monitors business processes and identifies process improvement opportunities. Processes payroll activities in accordance with guidelines and legal requirements. Assists the Payroll Analyst with updates to Workday (GPS) including enhancements, upgrades, testing, etc. Reports withholdings, deductions and garnishments in compliance with applicable regulations. Processes and records pay data accurately and on a timely basis. Audits and produces payroll-related documents and reports for management. Analyzes and interprets accounting records and financial documents. Compiles financial and payroll information for contribution to reports. Assists with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports for management as needed. Records and processes off-cycle payroll corrections and adjustments as needed. Assist other specialists with payroll and/or system questions. Provide backup support to Payroll Analyst as needed. Responsible for processing Canada payroll.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY: Intermediate knowledge of multi-state payroll practices, principles, and regulations. Intermediate communication, decision-making, multi-tasking, and interpersonal skills. Intermediate understanding of MS Office including Excel. Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature. Understanding of accounting functional areas and their interaction with payroll services. Advanced knowledge for resolving account issues by using various methods of research. Intermediate knowledge of federal/state laws and regulations, taxable wage calculations, and pre/post tax deductions. Capable of developing strong interdepartmental and cross-functional working relationships. Knowledge of Canada and Mexico payroll practices preferred.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred. Global payroll experienced preferred. 3 – 5 years of payroll or bookkeeping related experience preferred. FPC or CPP designation preferred. Workday payroll experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: General office environment. May require long periods sitting and viewing a computer monitor. High levels of stress may occur at times. No special physical demands required.
