Overview & Responsibilities

The Enablement Solutions Architect is responsible for gathering, creating and publishing technical enablement collateral. The Solutions Architect will be working with Rackspace’s sales teams, solutions engineers, product development/management groups, and Rackspace’s professional services group. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in either enablement, and/or training development around various technologies. The Solutions Architect will design and implement Rackspace’s future enablement environment together with the processes and tools needed to support this environment. The Enablement Solutions Architect will work with Rackspace’s technical teams to understand the gaps and technical objectives and then design enablement solutions that leverage existing technologies i.e. GitHub. Where solutions do not exist, the Solutions Architect will work with internal IT, product management and product engineering to implement new tools and new processes for creating and delivering technical enablement.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

· The Enablement Solutions Architect is responsible for gathering, creating and publishing technical enablement collateral.

· The Enablement Solution Architect will be working with Rackspace’s sales teams, solutions engineers, product development/management groups, and Rackspace’s professional services group.

· The Solutions Architect will design and implement Rackspace’s future enablement environment together with the processes and tools needed to support this environment.

·  The Enablement Solutions Architect will work with Rackspace’s technical teams to understand the gaps and technical objectives and then design enablement solutions that leverage existing technologies i.e. GitHub.

·  Where solutions do not exist, the Solutions Architect will work with internal IT, product management and product engineering to implement new tools and new processes for creating and delivering technical enablement.

·  The Enablement Solutions Architect will lead enablement workshops to enable Rackspace’s internal technical staff on specific technologies and concepts.

· The Enablement Solutions Architect should act as the focal point for technical enablement needs and work with all business units to make sure our enablement material is current and up to date.

·  The Enablement Solution Architect will also develop and maintain Rackspace’s technical enablement infrastructure and processes.

·  The job requires some travel, heavy travel is not expected.

Qualifications

· The Enablement Solutions Architect role is a mix between technical and program management.

· The individual will have the ability to quickly learn new concepts, and translate business enablement needs and map them to enablement material and tools.

· The ideal candidate for the Enablement Solutions Architect role will meet the following requirements

· Maintain a strong knowledge of Rackspace’s portfolio and offering.

· Have understanding of IaaS product like VMware, AWS, Azure, and other cloud technologies. Hands on experience with at least one of the technologies is expected.

· Bring strong analytic, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently create enablement solutions while collaborating with others on a team.

· Have some familiarity with scripting languages and configuration management tools like GitHub.

· Have strong written and oral communication skills as well as time management and organizational skills.

· Ability to prioritize needs, training, and initiatives. Excellent problem solving, presentation, and white boarding skills.

· Has the ability to stand and speak in front of large audience.

·  Some experience in technical editing and content creation.

 

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

 

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business.  Experience may substitute for the degree requirement at a rate of 3 years’ experience for 1 year of education.

· 7+ years of Solutions Engineering experience or experience working as a product manager/engineer with a proven track record.

·  Sales training across multiple technologies (Cloud, Security, DevOps, etc.).

·  At least TWO industry certifications required: Linux+, Azure, AWS, VCP/VTSP, RHCSA, RHCE, MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, OpenStack, etc.

·  IT Industry experience or exposure to technologies and applications such as Docker, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, OpenShift, configuration management tools, hyper-v, Zookeeper, WordPress, Magento, and Hybris are a plus.

·  Previous experience as an instructor will be big advantage.
