Overview & Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:  Responsible for partnering with our customers to implement, deploy, and troubleshoot Oracle Commerce (also known as ORACLE COMMERCE and Endeca) solutions for high traffic web sites.


JOB COMPLEXITY: Review and recommend solutions based on customer specifications. Analyze, evaluate, participate in tests, troubleshoot issues that arise, document the solution, and implements them using Oracle Commerce.  Participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and selection of hardware and software solutions.  Perform project management of estimating, scheduling, and monitoring tasks.  Perform engineering tasks associated with the analysis, design, and deployment of computer hardware, and/or operating systems.  Interface with different departments within the organization regarding new deployments.  Monitor applications for expected results and work with customer to optimize performance.


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY: Advanced working knowledge of the Oracle Commerce product stack.  Strong understanding of build processes and the tools supporting them including, ANT, Maven, automated builds, and continuous builds.  Strong understanding of control processes and tools including perforce, Subversion, and code branching.  Advanced knowledge of system architecture, system sizing and J2EE application servers like JBOSS and Weblogic.  Strong knowledge of web development technologies such as JSP, HTML, AJAX, and Tag. Ability to work with development teams on the deployment of web based applications.  Proven ability to implement, deploy, and troubleshoot large scale customer facing internet applications using Oracle Commerce.  Strong communications skills, verbal and written.  Ability to interact with customers through technical presentations.  Solid skills in documenting requirements and specifications of customer solutions.


EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or a related technical field preferred.  At least 5 years of Systems administration experience, including 3 – 5 years of combined engineering experience in e-commerce solutions support, network design, operational support, and hands-on implementation and configuration of network infrastructure including, experience with Java/J2EE, ORACLE COMMERCE, Endeca, Hudson, Jenkins, ANT/Maven, JBOSS, and Weblogic.  HS Diploma or equivalent required.
