Overview & Responsibilities

We are seeking a Data Scientist IV who will be responsible for transforming large stores of data into business value by discovering, interpreting, and communicating data trends.  Collects and pre-processes data for analysis.  Applies data mining, statistical analysis, and modeling techniques to isolate and visualize patterns.  Presents results in a readily consumable manner for non-technical personnel.  Resolves technical issues and creates documentation as needed.


 Responsibilities include:

  • Manages execution of tasks on multiple projects, owns project planning, and takes accountability for technical readiness of high-complexity, cross functional projects.
  • Oversees data collection, statistical analysis, visualization, and modeling. 
  • Implements algorithms in a programming language. 
  • Works closely with other engineering teams to ensure algorithms are delivered into production systems effectively and accurately. 
  • Develops new test methodologies. 
  • Fosters positive working relationships with internal/external stakeholder and partner groups. 
  • Acts as primary point of contact for owned projects. 
  • Creates technical project documentation. 
  • Participates in presentations. 
  • Provides technical training. 
  • Mentors lower level team members.



  •  Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, or a technology-related field plus 7 years of work experience in hands-on statistical and data analysis and programming with some managerment experience


  • Experience with R programming

  • Basic proficiency with at least one dynamic scripting language (JavaScript, Python, Ruby, Perl, etc).
  • Understanding and comfort with data extraction via API.
  • Competence with database structures and design and some SQL development skills.
  • Intermediate Tableau, QV or other BI visualization tool skills including the ability to connect to data, build objects, and publish dashboards.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information and ideas so that non-technical audiences will understand

Preferred Requirements

  • Strong project management skills, with an ability to design, plan, and execute projects
  • Experience with machine learning techniques, such as random forests, dimension reduction, etc.
  • Strong understanding probability, statistics, optimization, linear algebra, or related skills
  • Graduate degree in Statistics or a related field preferred
