Overview & Responsibilities

We are looking for a Network Engineer who is an Enterprise Network visionary. This person will be responsible for researching and setting network technology direction, strategic plans, project management and guidelines for a premier services provider.  This position requires Subject Matter Expertise with Cisco routers/switches/firewalls serving Linux and Windows applications with VMWare and Citrix servers.  This person should be experienced with customer interfacing as this position will primarily support a Government client.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in Enterprise Network Engineering within a large, complex global environment.
  • Knowledge or experience configuring and supporting FortiNet FortiGate firewalls.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and administrating network devices.

-Experience implementing Cisco based Nexus architecture, VMWare/Nexus 1000v.

-Cisco Routers – 12,000, 10,000, 7600 and Cisco ASR series.

-Firewalls experience - Cisco Pix, ASA.

-Cisco 6500 series switches - Sup2, 32, 720 models - both IOS and CATOS.

-Cisco VPN - Tunnel creation and client setup experience.

-Load Balancing Hardware - Cisco CSS/CSM model, Netscaler and Zeus.

  • Demonstrable level of technical competence including:

-Thorough understanding of the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP Networking.

-Experience implementing TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, etc.

-Knowledge of common network monitoring systems, security utilities and cloud computing.

  • Experience with a Managed Service Provider, Co-Location provider, IaaS, SaaS are all highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer presentation skills.
  • Any prior/present Security Clearance from Public Trust to the Top Secret level is a big plus.

 • Current Cisco certifications - CCNP, CCIE, CCDE preferred but not required.
