Rackspace Private Cloud-as-a-Service: VMware Private Cloud Product Marketer

We pioneered the private cloud-as-a-service delivery model and have more than 1 billion server hours of experience operating clouds for some of the world’s largest and most respected companies. Our private cloud-as-a-service offering includes leading technologies (OpenStack, VMware, Microsoft), can be deployed in any data center and includes the industry’s first pay-as-you-go private cloud solution.


As we continue to grow revenue at a double-digit year over year pace, we need an exceptional individual to lead product marketing for our VMware Private Cloud-as-a-Service business.


This individual will be responsible for all product marketing activities in support of our VMware Private Cloud-as-a-Service business including:

  • Product positioning and messaging
  • Developing compelling customer-facing content (e.g., sales presentations, solution briefs, white papers, blog posts, case studies)
  • Lead participation in analyst surveys and research projects (e.g., Gartner Magic Quadrant)
  • Creation of sales enablement materials (e.g., training, competitive analysis)
  • Lead VMware Private Cloud-as-a-Service product launches
  • Partner with public relations, campaigns and other cross functional teams to drive awareness and demand for Rackspace’s VMware Private Cloud-as-a-Service business
  • Work closely with VMware contacts to manage partner MDF and activities






The ideal candidate will have:


  • +10 years of marketing experience in high-tech organizations
  • +5 years of product marketing experience
  • Strong understanding of the cloud/IaaS marketplace
  • Experience using or marketing VMware products
  • Strong messaging and organizational skills
