    Overview & Responsibilities

    Rackspace is looking for a Mid-Level Software Developer to join our Marketing Technology team in San Antonio, Texas!

    As a software developer you will be part of a fast-paced, agile team responsible for building and maintaining websites and applications seen by over a million people every month, at one of America's best mid-sized employers.

    Primary Responsibilities 


    Responsibilities may include: 

    • Implementing proof-of-concept prototypes and production-grade software for websites and applications
    • Translating functional requirements into conceptual and detailed designs
    • Managing digital marketing and analytics tags
    • Deploying code into development, staging and production environments
    • Creating unit and acceptance tests
    • Configuring and building A/B and multivariate tests
    • Using analytics to make data-driven decisions
    • Estimating and scheduling work units
    • Working cohesively in a team environment including other developers, designers and project managers 
    • Adhering to established coding and process best practices


    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technology related field required
    • Experience may substitute for the degree requirement at a ratio of 3 years of experience for each year of education
    • 4+ years of experience in software development, engineering, testing, or a related field
    • Understanding of software engineering fundamentals gained through training, course work, or relevant experience


    Preferred Requirements

    • Advanced experience with frontend technologies (HTML5, CSS3, LESS/Sass, JavaScript, jQuery, AngularJS/React, Twig)
    • Experience with tag management technologies (Google Tag Manager, Tealium)
    • Experience with Google Analytics
    • Experience with PHP and object-oriented programming
    • Experience with third-party APIs
    • Experience with enterprise content management systems
    • Experience with git or comparable version-control system
    • Experience writing unit and functional tests
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Good communication, time management and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
    • Ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies
