    Overview & Responsibilities



    • Work with Rackspace and client stakeholders to gather and document requirements and then ensure the requirements solve a customer’s pain point or objective(s) through project outcomes and deliverables.  
    • Responsible for the preparation of Project Initiation Documents, assists in the preparation of proposals, RFP/RFI responses, Statements of work Work (SoW).  This includes the analysis and development of scope, duration, deliverables, resources, risk, assumptions and dependencies for assigned projects.
    • Plans, coordinates and monitors technical projects from initiation through delivery. 
    • Ensures that technical projects remain on schedule and within budget, cost and quality tolerances. 
    • Proactively works to identify and manage project risks and issues. Ensures appropriate response plans are developed and executed.
    • Monitors project deliverables and progress through continuous communication with project members. 
    • Prepares and presents reports on project progress and problems to Rackspace and client stakeholders. 
    • Serves as liaison between clients and Rackspace technical and non-technical departments to ensure that all targets and requirements are met. 
    • Critically evaluates project plans. 
    • Keeps appropriate people informed of project progress, disseminating information on any problems or potential delays.
    • Build and maintain a network of cross-functional technical resources within Rackspace and across any relative partnerships to allow for higher productivity, increased business, and rapid resolution of problems and escalations.
    • Contribute to the refinement of the Rackspace Professional Services methodology.
    • Ability to travel as required.




    • Excellent knowledge and demonstrable experience of coordinating and monitoring technical projects from initiation through delivery.
    • Excellent time management, communications, decision making, presentation, human relations and organization skills.
    • Meticulous about recording time and encouraging the same behavior within the project teams.
    • Experience in scoping, planning and managing complex IT infrastructure implementation, application migration and transformation projects.
    • Able to resolve problems in a timely manner.
    • Ability to communicate technical information and ideas so others will understand.
    • Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.
    • Ability to apply varying leadership skills and traits that create solutions and results to unexpected situations.
    • 5 + years project management experience
    • PMP/Prince2 and/or Agile certification preferred
    • Managed services, hosting background, or application development project management preferred
    • General knowledge of cloud technologies, IT operations, project management operations.
    • Proven ability to organise and execute projects in a consistent, repeatable and reliable manner
    • Strong organizational and cross-team communication skills
    • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
    • General knowledge of all areas of business operations.
