Rackspace Managed Security Product Engineers are the tip of the spear concerning new security products, features, vendors, and tooling. They work closely with product management to conceptualize, design, develop, and test new features and upgrades to both new and existing product offerings. They provide assessment, qualification, and recommendation of technologies and vendors based on strategic roadmaps and comprehensive test plans. They own the security tooling capability and capacity assessment, architecture development, and qualification testing process, ensuring no facet or requirement of a tool is untested.
In this role you will work closely with Product Managers to execute against product roadmaps as new operating systems and product versions are released, and new product capabilities are created. Product Engineers are the masters of our products, understanding a product’s capabilities, including UI, API, integration, implementation, supportable architectures, and any limitations associated with them. Product Engineers are expected to know the security industry and associated tools and products like the back of their hand and should be able to answer any technical question about our product offering. Lastly, they serve as a technical escalation point for both sales and support.
